StoneLab Scientific Symposium:
Thinking Outside the Box for Kidney Stone Disease
December 6–7, 2019

The AUA and the Endourological Society present a new collaborative scientific symposium focused on interdisciplinary, innovative translational research in kidney stone disease. The symposium will create an opportunity where premier kidney stone researchers, along with experts in nephrology, can come together with experts in biomedical engineering, physics, chemistry, artificial intelligence, and medical device design and development with the aim of "thinking outside the box" in the search for advances in kidney stone treatment.

There will be four main focus areas at the symposium:

• Stone formation and biology
• Surgical technology to break stones
• Artificial intelligence and big data applications for kidney stone treatment
• How to advance and fund innovative research

This meeting will explore solutions for the most pressing translational science issues facing kidney stone researchers today, present research in interdisciplinary fields that might be leveraged for new research to improve treatment of kidney stone disease, and help identify future funding needs and growth areas for kidney stone research.
